Lately, I  have learned to discipline myself to do more by doing less :
.
I think, one of the major contributors to happiness, really, is when you Focus on what you do Best.
.

.
A few days ago, I had a meeting with the leading training provider of the country- Ariva Events Management.

.

Are you familiar with them?

You might have attended or heard some of their learning events.

.

I had a meeting with their President and CEO, the humble, hardworking and very inspiring JM Matienzo.

.

I say humble because he doesn’t have that star complex at all. And even if his company has grown so big, from employing 4 people 11 years ago to having 35 regular staff now, from renting a small condominium to purchasing a lot in Paranaque that now serves as their head quarters, he keeps his feet on the ground.

.

I say hardworking because he doesn’t rest on his laurels.  On their 11th year, with so many seminars and workshops run by his staff, he may just opt to stay at the comfort of his home. But no. He sees to it that he gets to go to their events to double check what’s going on and say hi to people. He keeps on seeking ways for Ariva to grow. He is open to collaborations, partnerships, and other suggestions.

.

Lastly, I say inspiring because he really did start from the bottom. He used to work as a houseboy for an expat named Mr. Harry Pound, yes- the owner of The Harry Pound Company. Slowly, he worked his way to the top. Then learned the ins and outs of the business. When Mr. Pound retired, JM took the courage to put up his own events management company which is now known as Ariva.

.

JM knows his gifts, his capabilities & his game. He knows his weakness, too. When I asked him if he has ever spoken to his own Ariva audience, he said that he tried, once, and never will he do it again. It is not something that he is comfortable to do. He has figured out that public speaking is not for him. He’d rather organize and manage events. With this experience and lesson, he continuously empowers people to focus on their strengths rather than their weaknesses.

..

Below is a picture of yours truly with JM Matienzo at AIM.

You see, to be truly happy, you have to find what you are good. And you’ve got to focus on that gift.

.

It doesn’t have to be your main source of income.

.

But you have the responsibility to nurture that gift and use it in any way you see fit.

.
My friend, I am % sure that like JM, you have a gift that this world needs.
.
You have a talent that many people will benefit from.
.
You have something in you that only you in the entire world can do.

.

.
You owe it to the Universe to give yourself a chance to shine.
.
Come on.
.
Time is gold.
.

.
I may not know you yet or I may not know you that well but I believe in you.
.

As I end, you might have friends and families in DUBAI whom you think would benefit from this workshop.

.

May you be the light that would help make them glow as they start their 2018!

Together, let’s motivate our fellow Filipinos abroad to create a Vision Board that works and start their blueprint for success!

Positively yours,
